Licensing Information

There’s several ways to study for your Amateur Radio exam, you can do it self-paced online, online course, read the book(s) or sign up for an in-person class. Exam information is listed a little lower on this page.

Exam sessions:

WC8VOA (West Chester Amateur Radio Association)

When: In-Person and Virtual, please register for your exam at the link below: https://hamstudy.org/sessions/WC8VOA
Cost: $10 unless you qualify for a fee waiver*.
Location: VOA Museum, 8070 Tylersville Rd, West Chester, OH 45069.
Details: You can take more than one exam per session. We only ask that you have studied for that element and have been scoring at least 80% on practice tests. There will now be a $35 fee from the FCC to issue a new license. Upgrades will not be charged the fee. You will have 10 days after your license to log onto the ULS and pay the fee, or have your license declined. These fees will be in addition to the GLAARG fees.

* Exam fees are waived for US residents: minors (max age 17), full time enrolled students (max age 24) with a current ID, Active US Military, US Veterans, and GLAARG VEs upgrading to Extra. Please fill out and submit the Fee Waiver Form  (this form is ONLY for WC8VOA sessions).
