After a two year absence, PiDay was back, the WCARA was part of the exhibitors at the annual Lakota Leads PiDay. This event is to promote STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) to local families. We had our famous PowerTower which is always a hit with the kids/students. We had a portable 2meter station setup to get kids/students on the air, we used headphones due to the ambient noise. We also had a few hands on activity about magnetism and basic electricity. Our booth wouldn’t be complete without literature about amateur radio, our club and of course the National Voice of America Museum of Broadcasting. We had a several volunteers to pull this off, some on site and a few more on RF. Thanks to all that participated in this event to showcase what amateur radio is and what it can do.
